We tried a range of the current leading small animal scanners on Bubble the Mastiff, with the following results:

MSU Dog Scan: Image was very striking, with good contrast. The sacs were very clear, and the puppies were clearly visible inside as bright white shapes. It was not possible to observe bone formation, but the movements of the puppies could be seen clearly.
KX-K9: This scanner gave a beautiful image. The gestation sacs really stood out, and we could see one of the puppies moving its paws about on the screen. Elaine (Bubble’s owner) decided that this was her favourite scanner of the sub-£2000 price bracket.
SonoScape A5v: With the A5v, we were able to get a beautiful image of two of the puppies’ spines, and very clear images of their hearts.
SonoScape S2v: As you would expect, this scanner gave crystal clear, extreme sharp images. All of the bone formation was visible, even at this early stage (approximately 40 days), and we could identify limbs, hearts, stomachs, kidneys and skulls of the puppies.
